PULLMAN, Wash. – Following his first career title as a Coug, Washington State fifth-year senior golfer Pono Yanagi has been named the Pac-12 Male Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Yanagi shared medalist honors last week after finishing 17-under-par, 199, at the 2023 Golfweek Fall Challenge, Sept. 10-12. WSU's senior leader fired rounds of 66-66-67 on the par 72, 7,005-yard True Blue Golf Course. His three-round card included 20 total birdies, tied with teammate Sam Renner for most in the 80-player field.
The win marked Yanagi's first tournament victory at WSU and the first by a Cougar individual since the 2021 season.
